I recently had my first yeast infection at 32/33 years of age. I am not doing anything differently then before in my life … I have had this darn thing for 1 month already … taken over the counter stuff, diflucan, Grapeseed Extract ? ? ? I dont get it ? I dont like it ? It is hard having this and not being able to tell my boyfriend because that would be embarassing & gross !!!
I just want to keep from getting it again. I have started eatting yogurt …..
My diet is the only thing that has changed recently (prior to getting this) I am on the Weight watchers program …. and have been eatting a very low fat diet ? ? ?
Also can sex cause it ? If so how ?
Too dry ? Dirty Hands ?
Any info is appreciated thanks.
Also I have been tested and had cultures taken and I came up negative for everything - except the yeast infection.
How is it possible I gave it to him ?
One Last very personal bit of info ….
If he doesnt ejaculate inside of me ever he is diabetic has been for years and never has inside of me ….. wouldnt it be impossible to pass back and forth if he isnt ?

Yes, diets can cause yeast infection. Supplementing with yogurt is a good idea but it has to be the kind with "active cultures" Yes, sex can also cause this. If you had a yeast infection you could have given it to your boyfriend and he could have given it back to you and so on and so forth. If you are having sex with him you need to tell him what is going on with you. You may both have to be treated. Yes, dirty hands can cause yeast infections also. No, being too dry does not cause yeast infections. ALSO, it may not be a yeast infection you have, there are also bacterial infections that pose the same symptoms as a yeast infection but take antibiotics to cure and you and your partner will have to take the meds. DO NOT FOOL AROUND WITH THIS— certain infections can make you sterile and not able to have children if left untreated. I suggest going to the doctor and seeing what infection you have.
Actually the only thing that can cause a yeast infection is being a dirty, dirty whore. Try not sleeping with every man that comes your way and it should clear up on it’s own. Or kill you. Hard to say.
If you are having sex your boyfriend needs to get tested as he may be passing the infection back to you. Yeast infections are common and usually not diet related. They are caused when the yeast aka candia bacteria grows and take over the good bacteria in your vagina, mouth, feet, intestines or where ever. You need to get another round of meds from the doc and use condoms for sex until you get this cleared up. Continue with the yogurt with live active cultures or take acidophillus capsules every day. Do not douche without a docs ok, wear only 100% cotton underwear and never wear underwear to bed. Avoid tub baths and do not use soaps in the vaginal area. Be careful if you use lubes as many of those contain sugar substances which can aggrevate a yeast infection. For now see your doc again and make your boyfriend see a doc. You cannot NOT tell him when he could be part of the problem.
You need to go back to dr a month is way too long. In rare cases sex partners can pass the infection back and forth. Men can carry and have no symptoms. Try using condoms to see if that is the case.
