Not a yeast infection. What else could it be?!?

By admin | Dec 28, 2009

I went to the doctor, and the tests for a yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis came back negative but she did notice the white, creamy discharge that I had mentioned to her. There is also an odd odor and the discharge is very thick. The tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea both came back negative as well, and the pap test results were normal. She couldn’t prescribe anything for a yeast infection but she said that it may have just been too weak to be picked up by the test, so would trying Monistat be harmful if it’s not a yeast infection? And if it isn’t, what else could this be? I know my body, and this isn’t normal. Could this be from my diet and just a change in body chemistry with no actual physical ailment? Please help! I have had these symptoms for about 3 months.

There are many factors that could cause this. For instance, I’m allergic to latex so I finally figured out that using latex condoms was causing an allergic reaction that would be exactly like a yeast infection but wouldn’t actually test positive for a yeast infection. I’m also very sensitive to horomone changes and get symptoms like that about a week before my period every month.

But, that’s completely normal for me…it gives you some ideas.
